Are there variations for the #1 style double hilt?

Yes. The #1 style double hilt is standard on some models, such as the #1 (hence the designation of this hilt) and #16-7" SP#1. The #1 style double hilt differs from the #2 hilt in that it is asymmetrical, referring to the length and shape of both hilts. When specifying a #2 style (double) hilt for a knife that may come standard with a different style of double hilt, such as the forward-curved hilt that is standard on the Tom Clinton Special (Gary Clinton's Dealer Special), or lugged hilt that is standard on the #13-12", one must still specify a #1 style double hilt, because there is no way to specify a #2 style double hilt. What determines whether a #1 style double hilt is asymmetrical (#1 style) or symmetrical (#2 style) is whether blade itself is asymmetrical or symmetrical. Daggers and stilletos, such as the #2, #13, and Tom Clinton Special, have symmetrical blades, and thus will come with symmetrical #1 style double hilts, either as standard (#2 and #13-6"), or if specified (#13-12" and Tom Clinton Special).
